Freedom in the mind, faith in words, pride in our hearts and memories in our soul.
On the eve of India’s independence on 14th August 1947 around midnight, our first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru said to the Indian Constituent Assembly in the Parliament,
“Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in the full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.”
Taking pride of that moment we celebrated the 78th Independence Day, where the students, Faculty, Admin staff and supporting staff paid tribute to the nation and the freedom fighters with great vigour and zeal cherishing that moment of history when we became the Independent India.
With much fun fair, the Guides and Bulbuls of St. Charles Guide Company along with the school band welcomed the dignitaries.
The Chief Guest for the Independence Day celebration was Major Ajay C Bhat and the Guest of Honour was Dr. Shweta Bhat. Major Bhat has exemplified dedication, bravery and excellence throughout his illustrious career. His commitment to serving our nation had led him to officer’s Training Academy in Chennai, where he embarked on the path that would see him become a pivotal figure in the Indian Army. Major Bhat currently is posted to the Parachute Regiment Training Centre in Bangalore. We were truly honoured to have his benign presence.
The celebration began with hoisting our National Flag by our Chief Guest, Major Ajay C Bhat, followed by the National Anthem.
The cultural programme began by invoking God’s blessing through a praise dance performance. The Welcome Speech was delivered by Raksheeta of std X. The dance performances and melodious rendition presented by our students were:
